My 13 year old niece has shown talent and enthusiasm for science, so I asked her if she wanted any science book as a present. She said “actually I love math”.

Oh, darn. Another one I forgot: https://amzn.to/3csJzqt It's a pity there's not more geometry on my list (although the Abraham & Shaw books are marvels.) I'd like especially to praise Wells' YOU ARE A MATHEMATICIAN, which offers a superb big-picture view of mathematics.
