Formulating a problem worth solving is often harder (and more interesting) than solving the problem itself. Serious work seldom confines itself to solving assigned problems formulated by others. Curiosity drives not just the search for solutions, but also the search for problems.

I never said problem solving is supposed to be a task assigned by someone else. You formulate new problems only to improve what's currently present. Which is a problem. Supersets are infinite.
