Hollywood tends to be leftist precisely because so many of its greatest successes grew up in poverty and obscurity, and never forgot what it's like to live on the margins, in constant anxiety and uncertainty. Oh, and success in Hollywood is rare, fickle, and fleeting.

Your view of Hollywood as an oligopoly is hard to reconcile with the striking success of persons with no connections and no material advantages. How do you explain this? Would you like me to supply more examples? As I said, I can go on and on.
