In the last week I gently tip-toed over 2,000 followers. Hi everyone! I mostly post about games, research, a bit about equal rights, and generally with a developer-perspective on game creation. I'm also making a new game, and writing for a couple of other people's things!

For anyone interested in such things, the sculpt was something like 1.5m tris and went down to 3.6k tris in the retopo process. The mesh loops aren't amazing, but it's not going to animate so it's not a big problem.

I think this model is done for now. This was a learning project for me with . This was sculpted, retopo'd, and painted all in the software from scratch. I'm particularly please with the verdigris effect - this is driven by a smart material, so reusable on later models ☺️

A *VERY* common complain we hear nowadays is that comics have gotten "too political" and readers "too sensitive". This interaction is from 1974 in the Deadly Hands of Kung Fu comic book. It is featured prominently in the letters, acknowledging the importance of the topic.

Obsessive playing is a symptom, not cause, of wider problems. It turns out that the context of players' lives (I'm guessing poverty, social exclusion, mental health, social challenges) is the big influencing factor in problematic overuse of video games in a 1k participant study.

I'm learning this week. Tonight I had a proper go, and this took about 3 hours to sculpt. My goal was to make a wolf statue which blends influences from Far East lion and ancient Roman wolf statues. There's a way to go yet, but I like it so far and 3D Coat is fun!

Not sure if I've got any theatre fans on here, but the amazing production of Life Of Pi that I saw in Sheffield this year is coming to London June 2020. It's absolutely stunning!
