The market drop was short and vicious but the FED handled Dec 2018 well and the market went back to it's merry bull market way.
But that was a sign of what to fear in the future.
That was the sign that higher rates would be the "Black Swan" to end the Bull Market.

The stock market was in good shape 5 years ago.
It had been in a normal Bull market uptrend since the great 53% crash of 2008-09 and was generating above normal returns. It was great to be a long term investor.
Then came the first interest rate hike scare in Dec 2018.
