It's important to always take some profits on winning trades.
Simply for the fact that you then eliminate risks.

the mindset of trying to nail the top or bottom killed so many good trades for me in the beginning! i would be up good but wanting every dollar then a reversal happens and your now down again.. i take profits and move on to the next one!!

Today as an example, got in the morning for 20% on puts, sold right above an important level. It reversed on that level for a pullback but overall looked down so reentered at resistance, made another 40% on puts again and sold right above that same level. See you tomorrow!
