I would think for security. Takes someone being at rock bottom to realize. You get this mindset or develop this ideology that someone’s wealth should be in your pocket and not theirs. Not being able to walk away? Like the Belforts Or Jungs of our society?

The universe is setup with that temptation built in. It’s a test to eventually bring all of humanity to enlightenment.
