Well when they go up the whole sector goes up. But I wouldn't see them as contra stocks to go higher if the s&p goes down again. Unless big news from China comes out.

Is there a % difference you typically use as an indicator to start entering a swing trade? Like the percentage difference between closing price and a certain MA (5/10/50?)

I usually buy swing trades on stocks that are down at the bottom of uptrends. Usually near their 50 sma on a 10 day chart. Then sell near the top of the uptrend.
