The only reason the market was not down much today was because the generals like $AAPL, $AMZN, $MSFT, $GOOG etc held well. But if that's not the case for the rest of the week then short. Don't expect the 2nd string to keep the market afloat.

Really fooled by the system today. Went down 15-20 below the 50 and then came back above it by 30 points . Is this something that can happen from time to time? Is there a better way I could have played it ?

If we get a bearish cross but the price is above the 50 ma, then just sit on your hands and exit till confirmation of the price dropping below the 50. Same with a bullish cross. That helps to not be on the wrong side if playing the basic system setup.
