Anticipation has a lot to do with day trading. Once they went into $HYMC you knew others would follow. $HYMC is the leader. If $HYMC soars you know to buy others in the sector. If $HYMC drops you know to dump small gold stocks. You are just anticipating. That's trading.

Keep watchlist of stocks per sector. When one runs, watch for sudden spikes in volume on the others on a 1 min chart. Don’t buy right away. Price will spike on that volume and then come back down. Buy on dip. More spikes typically means its being loaded
