Confirmation also means.
If the stock came out with good news and volume is still light after the open and it's not selected.
I stay away.
Only time I want to grab the stock is if it's trading well at the open. They set off a buy algo etc. Then I know I have a winning trade.

I watch how they open.
If the stock is trading weak I don't touch it except if it drops heavy and I like it for a bounce.
