Most Day Trading stocks I already know/traded before.
First thing I do is research every stock that looks like it has promise of going higher.
News, Float, Past Trading history etc. Looking at short term Charts, Volume, Level 2 trades, Movement, Patterns, Support and Resistance

It makes sense to me to learn how to trade the S&P first if you have enough cash to purchase enough shares to make meaningful money. Then start to build skills with the small stocks. That’s my goal.
