Almost all don't have the $25,000. balance in their account needed to trade as day traders.
That puts you at a colossal disadvantage.

Ya, I ran into the same issue, so I started out with just a cash account... no margin account. Then just had to wait until trades settled. 3 days stocks, 24 hours on options. But I could laugh & trade all I wanted to.
I have 25k. Where is that number coming from? Really would like to get into day trading.

Not a lot of people know this but IBKR has instant settlement on options. There’s like $1 commission for every buy and sell order tho. This is my go to brokerage. Not the most user friendly but it works

The hardest part is being content with the days where you either minimize the loss or just have a few percent green. It takes longer than most people want it to.

This is really it. Knowing when to walk away will save you so much mental fatigue. Some days I know and other days “I should have known” lol
