I bought but when it dropped 10% I thought I was being smart and sold. Should have bought more. How can I know the difference of when to buy more or sell when it hits 10% stop loss

If 10% is your risk level, you did nothing wrong. It could have dropped another 50%. Never know. If you have conviction in trade don’t buy full amount at once. If it pops right away, you make money. If not, average down to a support level. If it breaks support get out.
