I live in the SUBURBS in NY. But a modest house here goes for over $700,000. Blame that on the FED because they use trillions in taxpayers money to keep the housing market hot. Because of Sub 3% 30 year mortgages people are paying those prices and going into huge debt to do so.

Totally agree. I live in CA make a $200k a year and still can’t afford a house. It’s insane. But, still funny that you said average house $700k because that just isn’t true across most of the country. Problem is, the places where housing is cheap the jobs are crap.
