This move worked with a lot of small stocks that Plunged lower at the open.
If you bought the low Bids on stocks like $BBIG you could of turned a quick profit on the bounce when liquidity came in and then dumped it.

Liquidity for most small stocks is not good.
It's a very tough market for day trading small stocks long. If you can catch some ridiculous short term bid drop on a small stock and then sell a bounce.
