You have to ask yourself. If the market drops heavy later today. Is your short term long stock trade going to be able to withstand that? If not you may want to sell and look to buy it back cheaper if you still like it.

Today was weird all morning while the market was green my portfolio was really red but near the the end of the day as the market collapsed my portfolio turned green and ended up finishing up

Do you ever recommend using a trailing stop loss? I have a regular job that I do very well at but I like to trade on the side. Sometimes I lose out on gains from early in a day because I can't always pay attention to stock movements.
