The American Dream is becoming more and more Elusive
How does a young person who doesn't have help from their parents do it?
Pay for college? Make enough money at a job to buy and afford House Bills, Cars, Healthcare, kids, save for retirement etc?
Average house price $600,000.

I’m a capitalist but if you grew up in a shitty neighborhood with bad schools and even worse people around you, good f’n luck.
Study hard and stay up to date on all the latest stock news, fda filings, conference meetings, social media influence. Can't forget the latter. That's my way of making it. Multiple sources of income. Preferably 10 incomes. Most passive. 2-3 active.

I wanted to make sure my profession (manufacturing engineer) could be done anywhere including places with a lower cost of living. I'm down here in the deep south, but I couldn't imagine living in California or NYC. Even with increased salary it would not offset that living cost
Honestly though, the housing cost problem is an NYC or San Fran etc problem. Lot of nice cities across the country where you can get a really nice home for 250k and a job that would pay that mortgage while living comfortably.
