My niece and her boyfriend are both pharmacist. She makes $150,000 and year and he $180,000 and they can't afford to by a house. Still looking. Because a decent starter house on Long Island is about $600,000 now. You have to be doing even better financially to afford that.

It’s tough, people don’t understand, that when you’re in certain areas, your limited. My first home was the worst in the neighborhood at $22k, but doing my own work sold it 10 yrs later for $60k. My wife refused to go in to look at it.
