Remember this move because trading outfits use it a lot. They select a small stock late in the day before close. Set off an algo. Then pump it more after hours. Then even more premarket. They never let the little guy get a chance. Then they dump it when the little guy chases.

With $LAIX they pumped it right before the close. You had to be ready to trade. You had to already picked up on it when it was moving today. Why spreading out in a few Chinese low float junk is the better way than putting all your chips in one.

In some ways being here in the UK keeps us safe from those terrors. As long as we don’t chase them on open we shouldn’t get stung. Of course we don’t get the opportunity to get them at the low but at least we stay safe

Very true! When I switched from investing to trading last year, I had to learn that the hard way 🙄 Now that I know how it goes, and being in Europe, where I can trade before US premarket, sometimes it's possible to jump in early morning and take nice profit before the dump :)
