Don't give attention to the trolls by responding or retweeting their posts. All it does is give them relevancy and validation in their minds. Do your own thing as you've been doing it. My friends and I have learned a lot from your lessons because you've given cold hard facts

You just described the entire premise of Twitter. Follow, bash person you follow, get attention, get more followers. Rinse/repeat.
Some people aren't happy unless there not happy.. always need something to complain about.
