But from my experience the #1 reason why most day traders of small stocks even good traders are not successful long term is because they do really well when the market is easy. Make a ton of $. Then market changes and they don't pull back and end up on a losing streak.

I’m waiting for the market change. I won’t consider myself a real trader until I make money in a bad market. Everyone is a genius in a bull market.
How hard is it to find winners when volatility is WAY lower ? I want to learn and trade in a market like that.
