In the 1990's a bought 40,000 shares of a .25 penny stock. They charged by the share. It cost me $350 to buy and another $350. to sell it. It was much harder back then. You would call your broker to buy a fast stock and you never knew for hours if you got it or not. Stressful

+1 yep, so many have no idea & dont realize how fortunate they are today. i was still paying per share add-on up till 1yr ago on outside session trades. 2007-2019 ive paid $419,000 in Broker fees/commissions. w/about 50% of that in just 3yrs 2007-'09 crisis-era active trading
