In retrospect. Best Guitarists I know started very young. If you didn't it still pays to know how to read music so you know what you're playing Lastly if you can't do the above. If you truly love playing you will play a lot. You will reach plateaus that will need to be broken

I’ve been playing the guitar for a few years. Self thought. In the beginning you want to quit because it’s hard and painful (finger tips, wrists, back). Either pay for a tutor or YouTube. A lot of great guitar teachers there. Slow wins the race.
