A big disadvantage for retail investors with trading small stocks is that they are difficult to short.
You can't always get shares to short. Which puts you at a great disadvantage to the Pro's & the industry.
You almost always have to trade long and they can stop you.

I’ve never shorted anything, still trying to not lose money going long on stocks.

I have tried shorting these little pumpers when I have missed the upside and it's is next to impossible to get borrowed shares.
