If a stock trades 100 million shares in volume and goes up from a $1.00 to $2.00. then drops back down to $1.00.
It's becomes impossible for it to go back to $2.00 again on only 1,000,000 in volume.
Why? Because there is resistance now

All the bag holders have their fingers on the trigger as soon as stock starts to go back up. This creates a downward momentum meaning once the stock gets near where it was the last time there will be way more sellers than buyers
