Nasdaq would have been higher today for sure if not for the plunge in oil prices that took everything down.
Traders who lost their shirt on Oil today had to sell Tech Stock to raise cash and that was partly the cause for the Nasdaq drop.

The market is always lead higher by tech or the market goes down.
Just look at the last 10 years.
Tech always out performs every year.
