In the face of #ClimateEmergency does a city with a population of 460k really need to expand an airport that already provides capacity for 10 million flights (or 20 flights for every citizen) per year?!https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/bristol-airport-expansion-flights-parking-3791345 …

I’ve lived out past the airport my entire life & what used to be a 25 minute drive into town has become almost an hour most of the time now (not even at rush-hour) the complete lack of rail infrastructure to support this expansion is a disgrace given the huge growth in traffic
-
Unfortunately (for us) the Airport makes most of its profit from car-parking. It's against its interests to encourage better use of public transport. If expansion plans go ahead, there'll be an average extra 9,500 car journeys a day in NS.

Likewise the rejection of WECA road plans - decarbonise rather than seek endless economic growth.https://thebristolcable.org/2020/01/plans-for-new-road-threaten-bristols-countryside-and-undo-action-on-the-climate-crisis/ …

PLEASE look into the EFFECTS of mobile masts on wildlife. Radio frequency radiation emissions harm birds & all insects & interferes with their navigational abilities. The science ALREADY EXISTS. We MUST halt 5G or we will have the complete annihilation of wildlife across Bristolpic.twitter.com/CyBSb0F8mX

Yes, and they’ve just rubber stamped all the proposals put forward by the company which owns Bristol Airport! So much for declaring a Climate emergency!

A company based in.... Canada no less. Great profit for them, and devastation for us locals.
