    Demolition of yet another Sufi site- this time in Sirte. We have no info on perpetrators, but hardliner Salafist groups in east/west have tried for years to erase this part of Libya's cultural identity. >>Destruction of cultural & religious sites is a violation of human rights.

  12. This jacket blurb by is much deserved. It also reminds me of how lucky those of us who experienced the golden era of field research in post-Gaddafi Libya (2012-2013) were. A space opened then which has now shrunk considerably & one wonders what will happen in future.
