There will be a lesson after they work through that where we figure out how to solve for a side. Then there's this for practice.

Assuming we'll still be teaching remotely in a week, I Desmosified my intro to trig activity. Normally students would draw triangles on poster paper and measure sides and angles so that we could create a trig table. This is my attempt to make that digital.

Instead of actually working on lessons for the course that starts in just over a week, I made this. I thought I would share it in case someone else is preparing for the third first day of school this year.

Thanks , , & Michelle Nguyen for Desmos Live (or not-so-live in my case). I was feeling tired and grumpy this morning then watched yesterday's show which provided the attitude adjustment I needed :)

Skyscraper puzzles are great with paper and snap cube towers but this activity is nice for virtual classes. I included feedback to let students know when they have solved it.

Dear , I wish I could see the dashboard symbol at the top of each student's page like I do when I'm previewing in editing mode. When I'm giving feedback on numerous screens, it would be great to have that quick visual without having to go back to the dashboard.

I understand why schools are staying closed and was not surprised by that announcement. However, it would be helpful to at least say that the situation will be reevaluated in x days rather than leaving everyone in limbo.

More Black Canadian STEM excellence today, because we need it! Last month Maryam Tsegaye won the 2020 Breakthrough Junior Challenge - the first Canadian to do it!

does anyone have any resources (or other online activities) for practicing Congruent Triangle Proofs? Asking the best PLC I know instead of googling because my brain is tired and I am tired of creating my own stuff right now.

This looks like it will be a really good event for anyone teaching science virtually.
