Err, no The reason why Trump got elected is b/c an under educated populace graze fed on the politics of hate promoted by Fox News were duped into thinking their decline in living standards was the fault of the poor & refugees rather than the 1% gaming a system to their advantagehttps://twitter.com/xraiche84/status/1081020190194876417 …

@Harryslaststand You seem like a nice guy but your followers are the reason a guy like Trump has been elected.

It’s not as simple as that. Trump was a protest vote for many. They realised they had the choice between a misogynist millionaire racist or a corrupt warmongering monster that the Establishment preferred. They chose the candidate who would show how broken the system is

I’ve got plenty of soul thank you very much. I’m simply pointing out that Trump is a symptom, candid about what America represents. Removing him or even getting him to change his personal behaviour won’t change what America does in its foreign & domestic policy.

Thank you for the clarification. Sorry if I misinterpreted. I have a different view of people who made this choice with their vote.

There was no choice. That’s the point. Not a meaningful one. Of course some did vote for Trump because they agree with what he espouses, but to dismiss all votes for him as racism & bigotry fails to acknowledge the complete breakdown of the western political system.

The man is truly awful of course, but why are we outraged at his language and not the acts he commits that Obama also did? Predator Drones? GTMO? Torture & Rendition? 26K bombs on 7 countries per annum? Funding & arming extremists in Libya & Syria? Occupation of Afghanistan?

that's downright moronic. they voted for trump because they subscribed to his racist, xenophobic rhetoric, not because of some high minded desire to expose corruption.

While portrayed as a non establishment vs establishment contest, surely you can see that he is worse? The people that he has hired, the things that he has said and done while President - Obama was criticized for his choice of mustard!

What do you mean 'they'? Black people by and large, didn't vote Trump. White mainly middle class people did.https://ropercenter.cornell.edu/polls/us-elections/how-groups-voted/groups-voted-2016/ …
