Oh there was fear. Still is. And a lot of it was due to not knowing. Rumours were rampant, kids stayed out of school, and online study exploded. Having a mask mandate would have helped immensely. Not knowing the data and not having a mask mandate led to a lot of anxiety.

As the parent of a child in British Columbia who had to wear a mask to elementary school for most of last school year, I call bullshit on that article. They didn’t start the year with a mask mandate, but by Christmas the numbers were through the roof and masks were mandated
