This would indeed match my own observations. There is one very small but fascinating outlier. The highest level of vaccine hesitancy is amongst Americans with PhDs

I would footnote this with "possibly applies among those of working age". Outside of that, I think attitudes break down in a much less predictable way than the letter describes.

“the vast majority of people who work in the media/nonprofit/activism complex come from a very distinct socioeconomic stratum, hence why they often miss trends that derive from lower-class sensibilities with which they are unfamiliar, and seldom ever encounter.”

I will put it differently. The most hesitant are those that don’t trust anything without evidence. This leads to a wonderful group comprised of both individuals that run on instinct and individuals comfortable enough with science to explore every outcome

The way this is spun is that a higher percentage of college graduates are vaccinated vs those w/o a degree. The insinuation is a lower intelligence but anyone who has been thru higher ed knows it is not intelligence that gets you thru it. It is $$ and of increasingly less value

Confirms that the email sender interacts with Managers/Master's degree holders/MBAs and entry level workers and does not interact with any PhDs in the course of his employment.https://unherd.com/thepost/the-most-vaccine-hesitant-education-group-of-all-phds/ …

It's not vaccine hesitancy. Those are two wrong words. Better words would be injection refusal. The people refusing are those who don't trust the government track record on recommended injections and distrust how it is being oversold

Same here. Living in a wealthy neighborhood in the fatbelly of Germany's richest city, my neighbors are all academics, high pin managers and executives - all vaccinated. When you talk to normal people in the supermarket, waiters, craftsmen, the majority is not.

As if academics and corporate people were trained to repeat, use and rely on third party information: book knowledge, doctrines, narratives, while normal people are used to find their own way through complexities of life. This pandemic, as well as vaccinations, are a class thing.
