CDC is setting up a disease forecasting center, to predict the future. A disease surveillance center would be more important, to understand the present; such as seroprevalence surveys by age, state, time; and percent reported COVID deaths due to COVID.https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2021/p0818-disease-forecasting-center.html …

are we sure that the real goal is to predict the future and not to influence/determine it?

Great show made by CDC. Give the right definition to the things if not , confusion will be higher. Veritas Liberat Nobis !

"Predicting" the future will help to sell more vaccine, understanding the present not. That's why, I guess.

Imagine a weather forecasting center ,to predict the future . Forcing lockdowns because they predict snowing in 6 months. Such 🤡🤡 1) chaotic systems cannot be predicted well 2) we cannot take them for granted for public decision- democracy should win
