I don't see general trust unless in form of "religion", but I see trusting individual scientist like yourself who showed integrity and who didn't fall to mass hysteria.

I cannot foresee how confidence could be restored. Financial gain is now the lifeblood of the industry. I assume it would be easier to simply do away with pesky people who ask too many questions.
