I had a similar thought but in the opposite direction. What about the folks that recovered from Covid and still took the vaccine? Would that make the vaccine look more effective?

I’m wondering about that too as both the wife and I had CV but don’t have antibodies according the the AB test.

Why? You’d think you’d include them as a sub group of the study, to see if what you just said holds water. Especially as there were indications that Ur type Covid sickness does not provide mauch if any benefits with Delta!

And they should be excluded from both groups - there are a lot of people in hard hit countries who have had the infection, and subsequently got vaccinated.

Picking only susceptible population would over-estimate the benefit of the vaccine. Most efficacy studies already attempt to do this - exclude those who already had covid - in fundamentally flawed test-negative case-control designs.
