Out of 3.79 billion doses administered globally, only 1.1% of people in low-income countries have received at least one dose. There is no way to crush the virus unless we crush it around the world.

Vaccine mandates for zero-risk Americans with natural immunity is unethical when high-risk older people in Asia, Africa and Latin America cannot get the vaccine. Leads to thousands of unnecessary deaths. Please act @RepJayapalhttps://thehill.com/opinion/healthcare/558757-the-ill-advised-push-to-vaccinate-the-young …

Can you share your definition or diagnostic test to determine "zero-risk Americans with natural immunity" ? Zero-risk of infection, severe disease, and/or death from Delta? Does the definition or diagnostic test have perfect accuracy? What level of inaccuracy is acceptable?

Your immune system does not prevent you from getting infected / testing positive. When infected, it protects you from illness and death.

What you don’t say (but do understand) is that getting infected for the first time presents a non-zero risk of severe adverse effects or death, age dependent for covid. After this, many assume that for all age groups vaccination has a higher risk of SAE and death than covid. 1/n

What you don’t say (but do understand) is that the covid vaccines are not invulnerability shields. When the level of infection is high in the community, the vaccinated will get infected and some may die. 2/n

So having an immune system and living in the Americas is your definition of "zero-risk" of illness and death from Covid-19. What's the predictive accuracy of this definition based on epidemiological evidence of illness and death? We can put infection aside.

🙄 He’s referring to young Americans without high risk factors. Ppl > 65 have 4500x higher odds of dying than those < 20 according to CDC data. The vaccines would do far more good for high risk elderly in other countries. For the < 20s covid really is no worse than the flu.
