No @BretWeinstein. SARS-CoV2 cannot be eradicated, and such attempts have devastating collateral public health damage. After the pandemic stage, it will become endemic just like the other four common coronaviruses we live with. Eradication efforts should refocus on polio.

So isn't actual problem related to not knowing when you might get it? Why not purposely get it + therapeutics + plus 1 week of daily phone questionnaire for issue monitoring.
It is remarkable and sad that our unsuccessful (and clearly futile) effort to eradicate covid will ultimately do more to inhibit our global effort to eradicate diseases that actually are able to be eradicated.
A full scale global effort with eradication actually prioritized above all else would do more damage to the world than we can really comprehend

Exactly. Conducting a successful eradication scheme on a global scale at this point is a pipe dream. Australia's failure to rid of covid on an isolated continent has proven impossible never mind doing it on a global scale. It's logistical failure on multiple levels
The isolation of Australia was only to prevent the hospital system being overwhelmed and mass deaths. It was only supposed to last until a vaccine became available and the population became protected. Eradication was never possible.
