The "elite flouted the norms of governance, journalism, academic freedom—and worst of all, science. As evidence of their mistakes mounted, they stifled debate by vilifying dissenters, censoring criticism and suppressing scientific research"-@JohnTierneyNYChttps://www.city-journal.org/panic-pandemic

Nothing in this article supports that assertion.

Jon I’m sorry the pandemic cost you speaking engagements but spreading crap like this is dangerous. You don’t think lockdowns saved lives? You think uncontrolled spread of the virus would have been better? Unfollow

It hasn’t cost me anything. This isn’t crap. It’s truth. You need to wake up. Clearly you have been so brainwashed you can’t see the truth. Lock downs killed more than it saved. Focused protection was the key.

It's this type of information that may cause people to act independently of the State

Ughh loved this article until the paragraph on how "progressives" have "mastered the tactics for demonizing and silencing scientists whose findings challenged progressive orthodoxy on issues such as IQ, sex differences, race, family structure, transgenderism, and climate change."

This is just telegraphing to the reader that the author (and the people they're defending) stand against a "progressive orthodoxy" on those issues. But a lot of those topics aren't matters of science, but of moral philosophy: how you treat other people who are different from you

Mixing religion and state was a disaster, but mixing science and state is apparently just as bad.
