Because what they’re talking about is trivial and has been known for a long time. The issue is not this theory. The issue is how to implement it without killing a lot of people in the process. If you look at it from this perspective, it is not as simple as it looks.

“Eventually”. The educational statement is trivial, it’s been repeated many times with relation to the rest of child vaccines. Why don’t you focus on the road to this equilibrium? Because it was reached for black death, but at what cost? And polio never reached it “naturally”.

Yup. The point is the cost of reaching this equilibrium. Of all possible paths (there are multiples ways to be there), Sweden, Brasil, India and USA (under Trump) chose the more costly one. Norway, NZ, Australia and Vietnam the more efficient one.
