Personally I do not know anyone who is "pro-lockdown". I know many serious academics who are "pro the proper use of lockdown, when necessary"! And I see "academics" who are pretending to be antilockdown but who are "actually creating the conditions for inefficient #lockdown(s)"!

That is not a declaration, it’s a theory that never worked. Nowhere. What happened if you do nothing: Take a look at Brasil or India.

When one sorts a complex world through a Heroes v Monsters paradigm, distortions r integral. Consider-the-source USED to denote a sophisticated approach to analysis. TODAY, it’s a cudgel wielded by bad actors to dismiss results they don't like/ruin reputations/dry up funding.

GBD *assumed* that the vulnerable could be protected. What was done to *actually* protect the vulnerable? Or was this just an excuse to let let things go?

2/2 On blocking 3 I am appalled that for >18mnths the ‘it’s not RCT’ crowd haven’t offered a research method that can be used alongside frontline protocol development. Putting a methodological barrier against learning in an emergent & urgent situation is incomprehensible to me.
