I think the most prescient comment is where you highlight how politicians are blaming the public for not adhering to this. Well lockdown fans...you know what happens next...
In South Africa we had the military enforcing lockdowns...we needed special permits to move around. And guess what... South Africa has one of the highest excess death in the world. But hey...try the more aggressive enforcement

So opening up fully and having a larger number of people infected would lead to fewer infections of more vulnerable people? I just can’t see the logic.
