But most schools are not safe. They need serious upgrades to ventilation and more space than they have, just for starters.

NYC schools are some of the MOST segregated in the country. It’s indicative of the city itself. Melting pot-NOT. That’s the real danger. HIRE AND RETAIN MORE teachers of color and males.

Some have discovered online/homeschool works for them. Districts should respect that choice and offer IF they can do it well. Otherwise it falls to charters and private homeschool operations who may be mire willing but not more able. Do what’s best for kids.
