#OpenSchoolsNow "Teenagers' demand for mental health care skyrocketed last year, even as their overall care declined. Parents and pediatricians have been warning for months that kids aren't OK, and this analysis backs up their concern with numbers."https://www.axios.com/teenagers-mental-health-coronavirus-pandemic-b82ef5cb-2b5b-45fe-84c9-91419a755ef6.html …

But let's make them wear masks and be repeatedly tested, thanks to the unions.

Matches what I hear in the room next door when my wife is on a call. Mental health floors are full and patients are now being kept in the ER. We are lurching from one crisis to another.

Polarised approaches to children wearing face masks in classrooms from two different schools. One prioritising the welfare of the children in attendance. The other satisfying adults who should know better! @gareth_beynon @Lighthouse_MAT pic.twitter.com/oD4HrgtRHU

Keep it up. Is there anyone more qualified than you to speak on this? I can’t imagine the counter argument holds any weight in overall healthcare

There will be some very serious consequences for failing to provide the support. Hoping those caught in the cross fire are they who caused it and failed to control it.

The costs to society for our response to the virus will extend far into the future, governments will have a lot to answer for but most of the people making the decisions will be long gone, leaving it to other to pick up the pieces

Is anyone ok in a pandemic? Do we need to send the adults back to work too? Sending teens back to school could land them and their families at hospital too, but instead of getting for help for mental care, they may be requiring ICU care instead? Why would that be preferred?pic.twitter.com/UKQcZRQuPU

In Sweden it seems to work well. 3/4 feel that remote learning has worked well. In New Zealand it worked well too, my daughter at university did 9 months remotely last year and ended up in the top 5% at her school. "It is what it is" she said. https://it-pedagogen.se/tre-av-fyra-gymnasieelever-tycker-att-distansundervisning-fungerat-bra/ …pic.twitter.com/pKF1dT5fjU
