You need to realize that the game is psychological. Of course you support academic freedom but by pretending that they are the persecuted they garner support for an alarming cause that shows no signs of stopping.

The AIER/Great Barrington folks have threatened many professors (eg me & @PeterHotez), but our universities “have our backs” (protecting our academic freedom). For students to be putting themselves out there & critiquing the nonsense coming from the AIER takes guts & integrity
