Government "scientists" never admit they don't know something and they never admit they were wrong they just double down and blame us for any failures

No. If Neil Ferguson & the Imperial College receive their funding from Bill Gates, don't they have an ethical (& fiduciary) responsibility to focus on the input parameters that Gates would like to see emphasized?

while models may be useful tools, I'd also suggest that if at all possible a general cultural value of *not* screaming publicly about outputs would be useful. Else more guaranteed to over-emphasize extreme outputs, confusing modelers themselves and destroying public trust
