Lockdowners are desperate to rewrite history because they can plainly see the devastating effects of their failed policies. SAGE and @BorisJohnson utterly failed to protect the old, and he never followed advice from @SunetraGupta, @CarlHeneghan or the @gbdeclaration.https://twitter.com/alanmcn1/status/1338529217445761030 …

I also responded to the suggestion in the Sunday Times that herd immunity may have influenced policy in September and am now throwing my phone in the canal https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/dec/14/herd-immunity-boris-johnson-coronavirus …

It's extremely difficult to protect the elderly when there's a heavy community transmission going on. I know no way to tackle that.

You can’t expect people to look to a document to answer questions when it’s already been established that that document is full of nonsense. It’s like looking in a Star Wars comic for scientific answers.

This is a nonsense. Talk to an actual Geriatrician about the practicalities. You cant have a storm of infection raging through the less vulnerable and it not overflow into the vulnerable. Even when we suppressed and tried at relatively low community % it failed.

Lol. Those have been implemented as good as possible. Idk if you've eveer been to an elderly home, but there are many workers and their chance of bringing in c19 increases linearly by transmission in genpop, rendering your "strategy" brainless.

But I know how the communication from your side will be, a strategy more similar to GBD than alternatives ultimately failed because of failing to protect the elderly like the GBD said. Like how capitalists/communist defer clear failures by saying it wasn't the real deal.

I support much of GBD, but weak link is the the nursery homes, elderly care homes; they have staff that live in the community and might go to work asymptomatic. I think development of cheap, reliable rapid tests is more important than vaccine. And may have solved all this.

Hubby has put himself back in shielding until January. He has COPD and a chest infection, it makes sense. This is what should have happened from the beginning. Those working #CEV should receive #furlough so everyone else can work. Why @MattHancock can't see this is beyond me.
