@mlipsitch is defamatory. GBD advocates mamixing infection among low-risk people relative to high-risk people. As opposed to maximizing infection among essential workers relative to the privileged. So that fewer people will have died from Covid when herd immunity is achieved.

Invoking climate change to bolster his already weak argument - not a good look.

I watched the debate and Marc is mischaracterizing what Dr. Bhattacharya said in multiple ways. I don’t mean to be cynical, it’s only pragmatic to expect more scaremongering from those who have been implicit in this disaster.

Dear Prof Martin. It’s obvious from observing that
@mlipsitch is not engaging his brain. Perhaps he’s overwhelmed with feelings of inferiority? Prof Bhattacharya is certainly intimidating with his sharp intellect and calm demeanor. He’s a leader of men, and occasionally a mouse.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Amen. On one hand, scientists are human too, and people naturally default to fallacies/distractions/projections when they struggle to construct a cogent counterargument. On the other, the whole thread is petulant, undignified, & certainly not solution-oriented. Disappointing.
