Public health professor @GabrielScally thinks Maajid Nawaz @LBC is "really being stupid" for asking if the £2.4 billion per day cost of the UK lockdown could save more lives if used for NHS and for all diseases.https://www.lbc.co.uk/radio/presenters/maajid-nawaz/epidemiologist-on-cost-of-second-lockdown-coronavirus/ …

The point is, science is doing the best it can. They’re breaking new ground every day. But there’s still a tremendous amount of uncertainty about Covid. Even when they reach conclusions, they sometimes later find out that their conclusions were wrong.

I don't think that is the point, actually. The point of the video, if you watched it, is that "public health officials" quite obviously have not factored the costs of lockdown into their policy recommendations, and this is a scandal.

These people are dangerous because they are focused only on one thing: reducing COVID to zero. Without balance from other sources they will continue to project above worst case to achieve their goals.

Besides the money, the other issue public health haven’t a clue about is HEALTH itself. Never did he say eat well, take vitamin d, exercise, talk to friends and family

Most of these SAGE types could probably not walk and drink at the same time. Literally all they think about is one thing, one virus. Nothing else.
