      When the president talks about masks, he instantly makes 40% of the population agree with whatever he said, and about 53% take the opposite view (not sure what’s going on with the 7% but 🤷🏻) 2/n

      This is completely regardless of the evidence about the context, the specific type of mask, whether you’re indoors or out and in a public space. In other words the science and all of the things that actually matter for public health 3/n

      You see this also in the discussions around schools. Whether or not they can open (hopefully they can) depends on a lot of things, but a single tweet can upend all that and divide people into opposing camps 4/n
